Ok this is a downgrade tutorial to downgrade your TA-082 motherboard psp from 2.71 to 1.50.
First off, Me nor any staff member of psp brew will be held responsible if you brick your playstation portable system.

When I downgraded my ta-082 psp from 2.71 to 1.5 I lost use of my external speakers. My headphones still work but even after installing 3.03 OE-A and B I still have no speaker sounds. Any Ideas?

I see a lot of people that don't like the 3.xx custom firmwares.

I would like to strongly argue that they are far more superior to 2.71. You can clear up the flash0 by dummying the fonts, and have enough room on the flash0 for comfort. I wrote a tutorial on it in this section.

Odd that you lost the use of your speakers though... I will try to find something on that.

**edit** I found some good information. Apparently sony has made a ta-086 motherboard for the newer psps in production. I believe that the silver psps, as well as black/ white psps will all have this new motherboard installed in them soon (if not already). There isn't much that people actually know about this motherboard yet though, b/c it hasn't been tested thoroughly.

I also found out that if you are able to downgrade your ta-082 psp, you are also able to load any custom firmware on it ;)

Now... regarding the issues of no longer having use of the external speakers... I don't understand. My suggestion is to recover to version 1.50 again. If that doesn't work... perhaps update back to 2.80 and try the downgrader again...

i don't think it was the down grader that messed up ur speakers. its probaly just a cowincedence (is that how u spell it :?: ) when i downgraded my brother's ta it was fine.
try upgrading back to 2.71 and seeing if your speakers kick back in. then when ur done w/
all that stuff just downgrade back to 1.50. good luck man!!!! :)

I had just listened to some music on it before the downgrade. As soon as I had 1.5 I had no speakers. It's not a big deal cause the speakers suck anyways but just thought it might be of use to someone. I don't want to bother upgrading just to downgrade again cause I am super happy with 3.03 OE-B.

To arto14: Now that we can downgrade the TA's, you can run any custom firmware you want.

I had already told him that Figz lol.

But yea, the psp's speakers could be louder.. that's for sure. At the same time though, they are louder than any handheld (other than phones) that I have compared them to. I always remembered the gameboy color being somewhat loud, but the psp can completely mask it.

but yea, I think if I were you I would want to just stay at 3.03 oe-b until I had a NEED for the speakers... like if I lost my headphones lol
